Enhancing quality of life for patients by improving their oral health
Due to my habits of thumb-sucking and a case of bruxism, the dentist became a second home to me from an early age. As it is ever-evolving, dentistry quickly became fascinating because I love helping patients achieve their best smile and educating them to maintain proper oral care.
As I pursued my education in dentistry, I realized the mouth is a portal to the rest of the body. Periodontal disease could indicate underlying systemic diseases like cardiovascular, respiratory, renal, neurological, and overall health. These interlinks also affect patient management. My goal as an Associate Dentist at Hudson Dental Center is to ensure that each patient leaves with a customized plan outlining a road map to healthy smiles, that helps improve their oral health and equip them with proper tools to maintain it. As a dental professional, having patients leave with a healthy smile is gratifying and fulfilling.
Education and Continuing Education
I completed my Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) in India, which helped me to start practicing dentistry. I then pursued my Masters in Public Health from the University of North Texas, helping me understand the healthcare system in the US. Furthermore, I received my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of California, San Francisco, where I learned digital dentistry. I love being a student, constantly educating myself, and regularly
cultivating my knowledge in the dental field. As a result of my educational background, I have practiced dentistry in different parts of the world. It has allowed me to work with patients from various backgrounds, understand their needs in diverse groups of people, and treat them accordingly.
Personal Life
I grew up in a small city in West India named Bhuj. Family and community have always been important to me, as we survived a massive earthquake together in 2001. After I completed my bachelor’s degree, I returned home to India and practiced dentistry for a year before I moved to the United States. After practicing for nearly four years in the Pacific Northwest, I moved to New Jersey and it has been my home since then. In my free time, I volunteer on
Saturdays if not working! Otherwise, I enjoy water sports like kayaking, jet skiing, rafting, and hanging out with my family and friends.
