CONE BEAM CT SCAN (CBCT)

The KaVo OP 3D™ system gives our oral and maxillofacial practice state-of-the-art technology to help our dentist diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented confidence. Unlike a traditional spiral CT scanner, this 3D system utilizes cone beam CT technology and provides precise, crystal-clear digital images while minimizing your exposure to radiation.

Our new 3D system enables us to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments in our office, helping to reduce multiple visits. The KaVo OP 3D™ scanner allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs. This helps to limit your radiation exposure because we are focusing specifically on your area of concern.

The KaVo OP 3D™ system brings the latest 3D technology to Hudson Dental, providing unmatched visualization of anatomical detail which aids in treatment planning and helps us to better explain the particulars of your case, as well as address any questions you may have. iTero Element 5D Digital Imaging

The iTero Element Scanner is a state-of-the-art digital scanning system that eliminates the need for unpleasant traditional alginate impressions—no more messy putty in your mouth! Many people experience gagging and discomfort of conventional impressions, which results in long set times and unhappy patients. Digital impressions can start and stop whenever needed for your comfort!

How does iTero work?

Using the hand-held wand, the iTero takes hundreds of pictures and stitches them together in order to form a 3D representation of your mouth. This 3D image is uploaded into specialized software that allows our dentist to create and implement your treatment plan. Dr. Fan uses iTero digital scanning for diagnosis and treatment planning with crowns, bridges, implants, and Invisalign® clear aligners.

The greatest advantage of iTero digital impression is the convenience and accuracy of the images it captures. This means less struggle and chair time to get crown and bridge to fit well, and a more precise fit for Invisalign aligners.

NITROUS OXIDE SEDATION (LAUGHING GAS)

Hudson Dental Center understands the long time fears, anxieties and phobias that have come with visiting the dentist. We offer nitrous oxide sedation, also known as “laughing gas”. This method of conscious sedation is the most common type of sedation dentistry. “Laughing gas” is administered by breathing in combined nitrous oxide and oxygen through a mask. Your West New York dentist will control the amount given to you. Hudson Dental Center often uses a comfort syringe in conjunction with the nitrous oxide as it improves efficiency.

AMD Laser

There are many advantages of dental laser treatment, such as shorter recovery times after dental procedures and reducing the need for anesthesia.

Dental lasers can be a great dental treatment option for those who are nervous about going to the dentist, especially children. For example, if your child has a cavity it may be possible to remove dental decay with a laser depending on the type of cavity and its location. For many people, the sound of a dental drill can be unsettling. Help make your child’s next visit to the dentist less stressful by asking about our dental laser treatment for cavities.

Pregnant women and people with heart disease can also benefit from laser dentistry by reducing the need to go under anesthesia. In some cases, we are able to reduce the amount of anesthesia used by opting for a spray or gel, as opposed to a needle injection. Since dental lasers cauterize as they cut, it makes for shorter dental procedures and recovery periods.

OralID™ Cancer Screening

According to the Oral Cancer Foundation, oral cancer claims the life of one American every single hour. The best chance at beating this cancer is to catch it early and start treatment as soon as possible. In order to increase your rate of success, we use the OralID^TM for oral cancer screenings.

OralID uses the same proven fluorescence technology to look for abnormalities that might signal cancer and that would be harder to spot with just the naked eye. This tool is a great aid in detecting oral cancer at its earliest stages.

OralID uses a proven, optically based technology called, “fluorescence technology.” OralID’s fluorescence technology uses a blue light (435–460 nm) that allows a clinician to identify oral cancer, pre-cancer and other abnormal lesions at an earlier stage, thus saving lives. The medical applications of fluorescence technology includes diagnosis of the GI tract, cervix, lung, skin and oral mucosa.

Intraoral Camera

You know the importance of prevention when it comes to your dental health, and we’re always looking for new, improved ways to help you achieve a healthy smile for life. While X-rays provide valuable information, they don’t give a complete view of everything that is going on inside your mouth. With the use of an intraoral camera, we can see every aspect of your teeth and mouth with incredible detail, uncovering cracked teeth, plaque deposits, cavities next to fillings, and excessive wear. When we can discover oral problems early on, your treatment is much less invasive and much more cost effective.

Our intraoral camera is small, about the size of the mirror we use during your regular hygiene appointments. You probably wouldn’t even notice we’re using it, except that with the intraoral camera, you have the opportunity to see everything we see on a monitor. This is a great tool to help you become more informed about your dental health, as it gives you a clear understanding of your teeth’s condition, and it allows you to make a more informed decision regarding your treatment options.

Digital Impressions

No more goop, gagging, or discomfort. Using the latest in digital technology, your dentist can take a highly accurate digital impression of your teeth. The new technology ensures a more accurate impression from the start, resulting in improved treatment and a more comfortable patient experience. Digital impressions give you the ability to see your teeth instantly in 3D, improving communication during the consultation and treatment process.

Our digital impression scanner captures the structure of the teeth and gums using the latest optical technology. The scanner is a compact, hand-held wand. Once your dentist begins the scanning process, it can be stopped and started as many times as necessary.

Your mouth is scanned with a radiation-free laser, and in as little as two to three minutes, renders a digitally perfect, 3D impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures. Through digital software, you’ll then be able to follow the progress of the scans including a three-dimensional model of your teeth on our computer screen. Digital impressions can be used for any restorative treatment including crowns, veneers, inlays/onlays, bridges, implants, and orthodontic treatments, including Invisalign®.
